- Dutch Coalition on Disability and Developement
The Dutch Coalition on Disability and Development (DCDD) was established
in April 2000 by a group of disability experts from the Netherlands.
The DCDD unites activists and organisations with personal or professional
disability expertise from three broad areas:
a. the disability movement
b. development NGOs, and
c. service providers
The DCDD is founded on a human rights perspective and rooted in the
UN Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with
Disabilities.
The DCDD organizes its first strategic planning workshop on the 15th
of June 2001 together with its constituency, the board and the members
of the Advisory Council, which consists of disability leaders from Asian,
African, Central American and European Countries.The outcome will be a
concrete plan for the next few years where and how the DCDD can contribute
towards equal opportunities for people with disabilities in southern countries.
